ABOUT GREEN OPS FISHING
Green Ops Fishing is a federally incorporated nonprofit supporting the mental health and well-being of military and first responder personnel through the transformative power of fishing. Founded on the belief that nature-based activities can foster resilience, healing, and community, our goal is to provide accessible, inclusive, and proactive support for those who serve our country and communities - whether experiencing mental health challenges or seeking to build strength before adversity arises. At Green Ops Fishing, we recognize the journey to mental wellness is ongoing and multifaceted. Our approach combines therapeutic recreation, peer support, and public advocacy to break down barriers, reduce stigma, and empower individuals to thrive. We are proud to serve not only those who have sustained mental health injuries but also to act as a preventative resource for younger generations and those who have not yet experienced mental health challenges. By fostering connection, education, and resilience, we help build a stronger, healthier community for all.
Our Mission & History
Our mission is to harness the therapeutic power of fishing to reduce stress, enhance well-being, and foster social connections among military personnel and first responders.

Green Ops Fishing began its journey in Oct, 2023, when the idea took shape as a grassroots effort to support service‑connected communities through time on the water. The organization formalized its structure and became federally incorporated in January 2024, marking the start of its expansion into programs, partnerships, and community initiatives. From those early days to today, Green Ops Fishing continues to evolve with the same purpose that sparked its launch: creating meaningful opportunities for connection, resilience, and well-being.
Who We Serve
Green Ops Fishing was established to address the unique challenges encountered by military personnel, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and paramedics. These individuals routinely experience high-stress environments, trauma, and the demands of public service, which can significantly impact their mental health. Our programs are designed to offer relief, camaraderie, and practical support - whether participants are actively serving, retired, or an immediate family member. Importantly, our services are not limited to those already navigating mental health challenges. We strongly believe in the power of prevention and early intervention. By engaging youth, recruits, and community members in outdoor activities, we help build resilience, coping skills, and a sense of belonging before issues arise. This proactive approach is central to our philosophy and ensures that our impact is engineered for longevity and sustainability. Inclusivity is at the heart of Green Ops Fishing. We welcome participants from all backgrounds and levels of experience, ensuring that everyone - regardless of age, ability, or prior exposure to fishing - can benefit from our programs. Our commitment to accessibility means we continually adapt our offerings to meet the diverse needs of our communities.
